Quick Weight Loss for the Swim-Suit

radid weight loss to look good in the swim suit
Every year the same story: when summer comes, the race for a quick weight loss begins. We’re piling up the swim-suits to decide which ones to put in the luggage, and the moment of truth comes and it may be too late to make up for it.
In most cases the quick weight loss diet startsĀ at the last minute. We don’t believe in miracles, but we try to make them happen, because of laziness, or lack of time. The goal is to lose 10 pounds and to look 5 years younger in a very short time.
I’ve been there: we want it all and we want it now, we realize how unhealthy our diet is, and we expect to make up for it in two weeks. The problem is, when we’re still young, losing 5-10 pounds in a short period of time is something the body can cope with, as long as we don’t fast. But towards the 50 years of age, a quick weight loss diet is something we should approach more carefully. If our goal is to lose 10 pounds in 20 days, we might succeed, but in the best-case scenario we’ll lose 6 pounds of fat and 4 of muscular mass. Past 50 ears of age it’s really difficult to rebuild muscular mass. The real healthy quick weight loss is 2½ pounds in one month. Faster than that could be a problem.
Besides, our body isn’t stupid: the less we feed it, the more it will maximize the resources, and as a result we eat less but we absorb relatively more nutrients. When this happens our quick weight loss programs will show no result and we’ll feel frustrated. Our body is not easily fooled. It knows its weight, and recognises it as the right one to survive and will try to keep it that way. It will adapt to the reduced intake of quick weight loss diets, lowering the metabolism, and optimizing what we eat. It’s important to get it used to the new regime gradually. Talking to a dietitian is crucial at this stage.
Most of the people look for last minute fast weight loss plans, some guys who have been too many times to pub first and the chipper after, seek desperately muscle building programs hoping to attract the ladies, on the beach, even if it’s too late. Most of those who try, will take for granted that they won’t succeed. This obsession for the swim-suit test should be an opportunity to change our diet. Summer is a great opportunity: when it’s hot we naturally tend to eat less, so why not try to make this become a habit, and stick to it when winter comes and temperatures go down.
A quick weight loss diet is something temporary, but the real goal should be to build our personal everyday diet, that will allow us to keep the ideal weight once we find it. Changing too much too soon, maybe missing a meal or two, is not the right way to go, waking up half an hour earlier to have breakfast is much better. Beware of self-punishing approaches. The point is not to change our habits overnight, but to find a new balance in our diet.
Losing weight during the summer, and not before: that could lead to a real fast weight loss.
