Most people don’t know that a great allied for a fast weight loss diet is in their fridge and comes right out of their tap.

A research carried out on 240 overweight women between 25 and 50 years old, presented by the Obesity Society shows that water helps lose weight. Not only does it purify, detox, and get rid of water retention, but it also has more specific qualities: it activates metabolism and has a great satiating power. Besides, it is a great alternative to soft drinks, often very attractive, full of colors and…of calories, one of the worst enemies in any weight loss program.

In a water weight loss diet, two or three liters of water per day should be included. Even if it is not a fat burner, the list of things it can do is impressive:

  • helps kidneys eliminate toxins
  • helps eliminate metabolism toxins
  • washes away stagnation and swellings
  • makes liver’s job easier
  • dilutes any excess of salt which may trigger water retention
  • it’s a remedy against constipation
  • acts as a “solvent” for hydro-soluble vitamins and glucose

Besides it has a satiating and calming effect against nervous hunger, one of the main reasons why many fast weight loss diets fail. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water first, then decide if you want to eat or not.

One of the things that helped me lose weight was creating a list of fast weight loss tips (where fast refers to tips). Here you have some:

  • drink it in small sips
  • drink it at room temperature
  • don’t wait to be thirsty to drink: thirst has a delayed response and a mere 1% of dehydration can slow down your mental and physical activities

Natural or sparkling? It’s only a matter of taste. Sparkling water actually helps digestion and has a higher satiating power. Always check the label: go for one with low sodium content, and  with a low spring temperature, it means it is more pure.

This is the recommended daily quantity of glasses you should drink:

  • 2 in the morning, as soon as you wake up before breakfast
  • 2 fifteen minutes before every meal
  • 2 during your meals
  • 2 between meals
  • 1 before and after each 1-hour workout. Or more for intense workouts or when temperature is high.

If you don’t like water, no worries, dilute it with a little juice of a lemon, an orange or grapefruit, or any other juice with no added sugar.

So what are you waiting for, start raising your elbow, your natural fast weight loss diet will benefit greatly from it.
